I've got an idea for a nice addon. I'm in the initial fase of knowing what some of the features I would like the thing to do and it's going to require some chatter between different client's to work succesfully. Personally I have a very basic programming knowledge. Give me some time and i might be able to do a /hello world.lua .If you know what i mean. but right now i wouldn't even know where to begin to make a complete stand alone addon.

So basically yes, preferably I would like to seek some guidance, direction. tip's. heck, maybe even a bored dev or two that jump up and say 'awesome, I could help you out with that'.

Whats a good way to start making an addon? I'd rather make it all on my own and take all the glory and credit and donations and sure there are some great guides i've already spotted and I should brush up on my programming skills regardles,I know. -buffs (bit messy and wide , just icons and time with hoverover tooltip would be nice)
-propper action bars (with handy "bind key to" option)

-player , target , targetoftarget display + debuffs

-recount+omen (nice pached over eachother with switch option)

atm i'm using a few extra things wich could maybe be worked in nUI

-Palypower (the feared pally buffs savior, atm its just looking ugly getting overlapped by the buffs, sized down to get out of my way)

-Zomgbuffs (when i go holy and i raid i have to keep beacon or other "hands of ..." tricks on people. zomgbuffs manages that for me. its not like zomgbuffs looks ugly u can make it blend in easy. maybe include that somewhere in the download and give it a place)

-last but not least a bossmod but this shouldn't be incorporated they are all selfexplanatory u just download one that u like and position it on the screen.


some things have already been sugested.

- a propper option menu instead of a /commands-list (to increase the mobility/functionality, example. to let u disable useless options to improve ur FPS wich is a serious problem atm. I have state of the art computer with standart fresh install , no addons, i run at 50 fps steady in 25 man raids during high data processing moments. I turn nUI on , bam... 10-15 FPS. if we can personalize it more by reducing the date transfers. that would be awesome! :-)

I always forget to pick up the Winer Hyacinths first and usually have to go back to the area. While they are plenty easy to find, it would just be a nice reminder.

Takeing your eye off the target in pvp can be very costly.

I use nui+ with the full hud, now I don't know if there is a way to put this on the hud or if there's an addon for this little feature, it would be a nice addition to an already great product. :)

my question: is there a raidframe (and party) addon out there that only shows the raidmembers names in classcolored text?
